...never in my life have i fallen in love with a handbag like i did with this particular brand of handbags. the type of love that when showering in the morning i literally am thinking about it, went in to a small shop at least three of four times just to try it on my arm and feel how soft the leather was against my grip and to find out it was all made by a bright young guy right on my street ramsgate avenue, bondi beach, sydney, australia.

at the moment on a monday evening in sydney area we are at bondi fm where tonight of all nights they have live music in the dj booth with a great assortment of entertainment...

all and all great atmosphere a must see when you visit sydney and a local spot that is rather protected x

this is my friend heather...

"hiiiiiii heather!" you might hear me call her chicken from time to time and that just goes back to some time ago a trip involving 11 fsu girls in amsterdam for four days.. you do the math as it was absolute madness but amazing... such great shopping in amsterdam.. side note as they are quite fashion forward.. anyway.

we were just enjoying a saturday off in sydney and headed to the rocks of north bondi beach to just relax and enjoy a moment...

all of a sudden we literally stumbled upon this group of guys who were all quite fit, hmm hmmm ok EXTREMELY fit and hanging out in their own man zoo... i have never seen anything like this before, truth texas, a wild habitat home to these aussie guys where they would be challenging one another to barbaric acts the most important being a rope climb where one of the blokes literally climbed up and down three times in a row.... never seen anything like it. this also was not your typical rope.. oh no! this was a rope that hung from a cliff overhanging the ocean from north bondi and was probably the size of a two story house.

people joined us in watching these live mammals in action... i felt at one moment we were in that dream of lindsey lohan's in mean girls when she was visualizing all the students in her school as animals from the wild... that's how this group was.. one guy was doing push ups from one set of rocks to another as a different guy lowered himself to take a gulp of water out of a small pool that the rocks collected as the rest of the group was cheering and chanting on the next featured champion of the rope climb...

all and all we were a bit stunned of what we just saw and needed some wine in our lives... champagne on a saturday afternoon.. why not? great little coffee shops and cafe's all through bondi beach primarily favorites are on hall street and north bondi..

this vw bus needs to be in my life as well.. just saying

we found these fabulous ladies having a garage sale that we could not pass up so they sent us to the RSL to use their atm, stopped to get a bloody mary and then we saw austin powers walk by...

how good is this outfit? he looked just out of the film and this particular austin was dressed for his stag do or bachelor party as we call it in the states...

...we also saw pictures of him running down the beach earlier that morning wearing a lime green bathing suit resembling the one from the film borat... no one needs to see that! haha but they were such a funny lovely group of guys... toasting to one another and all the happiness for their groom to be!

chicken and i had quite a silly day to say the least!!! best thing about traveling is that you never know what you are going to get yourself into...

wow. long time no posting but i have to say that this place has blown my mind and inspired me to get on top of things... loads of photos ahead i have been traveling, living and loving life, working on a film with costume design and pics to come with that, as well as scouting new and innovative people... get excited!

three weeks ago i landed in sydney australia via singapore and now living on bondi beach. we stumbled into this place aqua bumps where heather and i were blown away by the beauty of this photography...

this week that has passed completed the one year anniversary of lace lingerie and vintage boutique in safety harbor, fl

this shop has been my creation, determination, success for the last year and half of my life... so pleased we made it through our first year as seventy percent of businesses do not... i think we owe a big thanks to our customers, family and friends who have spread the word like wild flowers and most of all to each other for sticking though this whole thing together. flo i love you loads and i am so proud of us!!

here we have my darling friend laura lee who i often ask to drop by my shop so i can style and get some juices flowing for those who always claim they 'love vintage' but 'don't know how to wear it' ...umm speechless. however i am here to help for those who have this problem and from opening lace (eeeek almost one year) i have met, conversed, and styled those who say they are challenged in this department.

alright, rule number one... just try it on! you never know how it is going to look and it is all so frumpy on the hanger. trust me.. you will be surprised with how all vintage clothing looks and hugs your body.

this purple dress for example is cute while hanging... but once fitted with a belt and a touch of jewelry... just a touch... the outfit is complete. i like to accent the color of the dress and keep everything else quite simple like the gold ball vintage necklace, wicker hand bag and her own wooden sole heels *also vintage from a boutique in orlando.. although these pieces are unique in their own way they do not over bear the ensamble... the best part about this entire look from lace: dress, necklace, handbag, and belt all together under $70

affordable vintage is the way to go because it means you can look fabulous even if on a budget... while remaining completely unique as you know there will certainly not be anyone else rocking your pattern or color.. not to mention

vintage = pre-loved = eco friendly!!!

i picked this up over the summer from a small shop in woodstock new york... i can't think of the name of the little place but this woman has EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you could imagine... this includes funky jackets, dresses, clocks with barbie dolls or trolls glued around the face for each hour's number... she also had the most incredible lime green wide feathered coat

She is a legend... icon from our time who's laughter will carry on to my children as I was raised watching (my mother is a motivational speaker on humor after all who has actually met and collaborated efforts with Lucy Arnez - daughter of the legend herself) we shall see what the future brings and if the projects will flourish and help people through LAUGHING

My mother has been telling me about this old movie titled 'MAME' with Lucille Ball post 'I Love Lucy' days...

I have to say that was a bit sad to see the actress' performance and not all too impressed HOWEVER the fashions were to DIE for... Lot's of hats, furs, gloves, cigarette holders, scotch drinking cocktail dresses and wonderful earrings

Opening scene is a party at Mame's New York City apartment in the late 1920's... champagne is flowing, everyone is dancing and she finds herself a new child named Patrick who she is now in charge of from her brother's passing... not quite the mother figure, yet raises the boy in an interesting way...

The fire engine red pants suit that Mame is wearing is absolutely amazing... fitted in the hips, wide in the legs and the back of the top is cinched with a long piece of fabric hangs down and emulate's a train...

This hat is absolutely fabulous... she is wearing a hat in almost every scene.. I wonder how women would travel so well back in the day... I suppose they didn't have as severe restrictions as we do these days... doesn't the airport security realize how important our head wear is ;)

This Doll was created to model a unique dress worn in the film when Auntie Mame meets the parents of her grown nephew's fiance... she scares them off alright and NOT due to this piece of art that they are calling a dress...

gorgeous! and who would have thought... a natural blonde changing her color red to stand out and MAKE it in Hollywood now THAT is an innovative thinker

...i can remember being the new kid in school when i was twelve, seventh grade, perfect time for a kid to up and leave all their friends that they have been with since kindergarden.

...as my luck turns out, the one person i knew at this new school was so kind and made SURE to introduce me to everyone she knew ;) i instantly felt welcomed and in the long run... that move was probably the best thing my mother ever did to be honest.

the friends i made that year are still some of my closest and dearest today... yes weeks or months may go by that we don't see each other or even SPEAK to each other but it's just the way life works sometimes... and we all pick up right where we left off..

I feel very lucky to have such wonderful people in my life that are always supportive and encouraging... devyn has been one of these friends since the day i met her... through high school, florida state, and even these last two years that we've been out of college... she continually pushes people to their fullest ability, makes you smile or listens to anything that you may need to get off your chest... always up for some great thai or a coffee and help you develop an idea in your head and sort out the way to make it a reality.. personally, i have always loved her secret love affair with clothing and the way she rocks each outfit...

...I am proud to say that she is in the process of making one of her dreams come true ...her first film. please see below as this is a section of the email sent to family and friends.. i can't express my excitement and joy that this project is in full-force.. congrats my love you are doing it!! xx

So many of you have heard that I am MAKING A MOVIE this summer! For those of you who haven't, I am MAKING A MOVIE this summer!

I am incredibly excited and each day that draws closer I have to sort of rub my eyes and think to myself, "this is really happening!". That being said it is a lot of work and is a little like that saying it takes a village to raise a child. You all being the village and the movie being the child of course.

So I wanted to take the time to inform you all of what was going on and make sure everyone who wants to be included is. If you are receiving this e-mail you have probably already been a part of the process that got us this far. I am incredibly lucky to have a strong support group of family and friends who have been consistently encouraging and inspiring. I definitely wouldn't be in the position to even dream of a feat such as this without the years of support you have already offered.

...in honor of this be-love-ed holiday

...which let's be honest, is really just a made up commercial holiday for card and chocolate companies to make lots of money and give women false hopes that the cute guy that she may bump into at the coffee shop really may like her because he gave her something for valentine's day

...my theory is that if you love someone you should tell them every day... or every other day and it doesn't have to be blown up on a big red cheesy card and fatty chocolate to accompany..

...don't get me wrong, I love cards and when i get one in the mail it makes me really happy.. a hand written gesture to show that you truly care about a friend or loved one and chocolate, oh my god i love getting chocolate... just not on valentine's day.. i just don't see the point... and yes, at the shop we have tons of great lingerie from Hanky Panky, Mary Green, Betsey Johnson, happy heart rompers by Only Hearts NYC which are soooo cute and pinks and reds and sexy and sweet... we give right on into this culture phenomenon because quite frankly it's what people want and like and we might as well make some money too... I'm all about making happy couples ...happier, but why not at the end of Febuary too.. and March and every month ;)

side note: check out the new marie claire on stands as there is an entire section following how lingerie/innerwear is now fashionable worn as outerwear... hmmm sounds like something i have been saying for a little while now and what my shop is based around.. pics of fashion show coming soon..

..just got back last week from colorado.. family vacay..jayden's first time to play in the snow... two days of ski one day to board.. all and all an awesome break from florida... the town was super laid back, good people, good vibe, i honestly didn't want to leave..

i've heard the summers are quite stunning as well.. have to check it out at some point for a little mountain biking, hiking, and music festivals...

picked up all our gear from terry's sports on the mountain, bear claw was our residence for the weekend which was pretty unreal.. ski in ski out condo and our back drop was... ummm the slope. poppa dukes one this condo and we were very impressed with the whole place... the hot pool and tub were probably my favorite thing about the whole place.. nothing better than soaking your muscles after a long day in the snow.

i tell you what though it is rather hard to look look cute when it's so cold out.. layers layers layers just like i was back in london all over again (leo and her layers).. a good pair of boots is def the most important factor, not just for fashion but to avoid slipping and falling on your bum...

my brother-in-law and i high hit the town friday night where we stumbled upon ghost bar, cool little spot, great reggae band and full of funk... the boat house was cool too and tap house isn't a bad spot to try either... cute bartender for eye candy ladies...

slopeside bar and grill you gotta go to while you're there.. straight off the mountain or even if you head out later.. great beers on draft, bar tender who was quite entertaining... she was fab!

urbane - a must go to store in down town of steamboat...funky brands, cool threads for guys and girls... and they've got some pretty bad ass accessories.. their sign was my favorite part of the whole place because it was this metal tree... i feel like they should make mini ones and sell 'em as art work

urban laundry... super cute store carrying a mix of trendy, fashion forward, yet practical garments. great assortment of free people tops, tights, sweaters, jeans... picked up a pair of white skinny's myself in one size too big... this has been my thing lately, comfort over anything else, just make it cute... although they are a tad baggy just roll up the bottom and piece it together with a tight tank and a looser blouse or a button plaid down and belt at the waistline... that way you can still show your shape

Light and Sons - a STAPLE to steamboat springs and owned/ran for over 100 years by four generations... great stuff to just look at, personal favorite were the red pj's hanging in the front window.. red, cotton, long sleeve, long pant all one piece and only three buttons at the neck haha pretty wild

great cowboy and girl boots... funky, classic, durable, whatever you can imagine, ugg boots, etc. ....i'll have to take a pic but i did scoop up some kiwi green suede moccasin flat booties... fringe around the ankle and lace up the front... literally the most comfortable shoe i have ever put on in my life... oh and they also have THE cutest shoes for little kids yeee haaaaaaaaw partner

although my expression is quite silly here... i am trying to capture the sleeve of this dress because the lace detail is spectacular.. as soon as i found this dress it reminded me of a similar number i once had my hands on at jenny packham from her rtw08 collection... i love how the lace makes up the entire arm's length and expanding to the neckline... my dress looks like a black strapless number except for the entire top layer of black lace from wrist to neck to hemline... it cost me $22 in alterations to tailor the lace to my shoulder height but honestly, i found it at a thrift store for $5 ...true story. i literally saw it, tried it and the potential was only a seamstress away... i was like, "i HAVE to have this dress!" ...you never know what you're going to find at your local salvation army

new orleans was our destination in ringing in the new year and what a show it was! surrounded by fantastic people and inspiration... we had a good 'ole time.... devyn got her volume on which is a must when you are about to hit the town... the white feather boa was just for fun but added that little extra something she needed to complete her fit.

katie had this rockin' hair style that h.griffis so kindly helped her pull together... she kept relating it to rihanna and i have to say it's pretty darn close... katie was in fashionista heaven with her new purple suede heels and up do... mmmm mmmm she looked quite fly.

love love love laura's blue little dress and layered chain necklaces... i love necklaces in layers because to me one is just so boring.. it was rather chilly on this eve so she paired this dress with black tights and black flat ankle boots and black blazer.. super cute and she was ready to party in comfort and style

heather picked up this flowered headpiece at urban on the day of nye and literally all weekend people complimented it... adorable but i have to say i think it just added to her hot little hair cut.. fab.

my black feather and veil headdress was once on a band and broke so i just clipped it into the front of my hair and wha-la headpiece... although a couple of folks did ask me if i was attending a funeral haha i think i was just in the spirit of the dark and soulful blues

...introducing my nephew jayden. he is wonderful and makes me smile everytime i see him... without fail.... i got him this little hat when i was in england along with the sickest high tops... why are things so much cuter in small sizes??? i do have to say that the little boy departments are slacking... it's not even fair how much more selection there is for little girls... i suppose this is a preface to shopping in general... boys you have to get creative in where to buy and it all starts from babyhood

when i returned from london last fall... he was one of the first people i had to see and bring him to visit granny mom... one of my best friends and how dearly she loved him and just wanted to watch him run around, throw mashed potatoes on the ground, and giggle 'til he couldn't giggle anymore...

he loves brooksville where these photos are taken and my grandmother lived... i am so grateful that she got to enjoy him as much as she did... and when it's time for my children to come she will be smiling down on me... and watching over them too...

i am sort of obsessed with this dress that mary-kate is rocking.... i love finding old baggy dresses that look like they would fit a triple x lady... but belt them and make it really short, black tights, kick ass heels and pull it out the top to make it all flowy... you are set. my friends all think i'm nuts when i first start getting dressed... but you just gotta trust your style...

this blue little number is a perfect example... literally looks like you could fit fifeteen people inside...got it at goodwill in chelsea for like ten bucks.. i just belted it with a gold vintage belt, made the skirt part super short (habbit) and posted one shoulder off the side... long gold fringe necklace, forever twenty one, chunky black patent cork wedges with large gold buckle, luchiney got them in miami eighty bucks.. most expensive part of the whole fit but complete it... this little leopard clutch is interesting because it feels like a soft knock-off leather but cleans really easily... found it on a cruise ship in alaska, random i know.. but you never know where you may find something cute... flower in the hair was pretty essential ;)

SO everyone remember when mossimo bathing suits were like THE cool thing to have back in the day... then they branched into target where everyone was thinking, great.. now i can afford them... well

my question: is it really all that great??
...i just saw at walmart the other day the that miley cyrus has teamed up max azaria from bcbg max azaria to offer a lower price range line for young ladies... great idea in concept as far as offering girls with a lower budget something trendy and cool... however the upscale reputation that bcbg/max azaria i feel may dwindle a bit. yes.. sales will be great, there is no denying that... however long-term i think it's a shame that they sold out.. great for miley as she will continue to roll in the dough, as if she needs it.. but her reputation is completely different than that of bcbg/max azaria.

the items are quite cute for that age group and price range... i guess all i have to say is that i am a little surprised that max azaria would team up for a marketing campaign like this.. i mean honestly, it's not like they need the money ;)

this is me last fall in florence, italy. momma dukes and i were only there for the day but it was such a lovely day. great lunch and a bottle of vino... found the most interesting boutique where these funky fashionistas would be sewing away new creations in the middle of the store... i clearly didn't understand them since they speak italian, however the love and passion for creativity with fashion was the same... i felt their energy and instantly we connected.... i did also bargain with this italian man and scored the greatest leather jacket ever.. light weight but keeps you so warm... aaaaah to travel leisurely and never have to work again.. wouldn't that be nice ;)

how adorable is this little lingerie dress from betsey johnson... we just got them in last week and the thing i love most about these is that they are so mulit-purpose

sexy on their own as lingerie...

if you decide to throw black tights or leggings under and boots with a black blazer... perfect going out fit...

over black skinny or dark skinny's and sick shoes would be such a hot look... and the best part is that when you get home you can take the jeans off and curl right up in bed... perfect if your staying at your man's house and don't have time to pack an overnight bag ;)

november 13 2009 lace combined forces with buffalo gal vintage of st. petersburg fl to put on a pin-up girl fashion show in honor of veteran's day...

the ladies looked f a b u l o u s... as if they popped straight off the wall of a wwII soldier's bunk... mixing new lingerie and vintage accessories, slips, dresses, and gloves the pin-up look was perfect! the older vets were quite excited, i think one of my dear friends actually got his foot ran over by a motorized scooter as the pin-ups stirred excitement throughout the crowd.. haha

art and design in safety harbor opened their exhibit of the vargas calender girls, the musuem was packed and the whole town was dancing and drinking the night away... all and all a fantastic evening

that is the question... i say FRINGE yourself and have fun doing it!!! we've been seeing trend strengthen but i have to honestly say that i've been obsessed with flappers since i was ten years old and was a flapper for halloween... something about the way the dress moves and as i got older and actually researched more about the day of... i became fascinated with their mystery and fun living spirit... so much more than just fringe to a dress...

this month's glamour featured this black and green dress that i couldn't stop thinking about after i wore it for the divas and devils photoshoot in sept (who would have known that it would end up the mag).... sooooo comfortable and classic... i got a million compliments when i wore it to the rawson/gale rehersal dinner.. long gold vintage necklace i wore it with and black luciney patent leather cork wedges with a chunky gold buckle.. found those in south beach

below you can see the rest of my small collection and i have a feeling it will be increasing... oooh that just reminded me of the white flapper wedding dress that jenny packham had created... outstanding and i'll have to find a pic to post

ok so my new infatuation is my nike high top sneakers.... got them in miami at shi acutally $89 but well worth it... perfect to pair with leggings preferably black, with a long white beater and a scarf... or even a loose T-shirt if you fancy.. just recently i paired them with a black shorts romper from express $40 and my kicks ...did epcot for the whole day and i was sooooo comfortable...

i have to give credit to leo, my flatmate from london as she inspired me from this turqoise and white pair that i would barrow from her all the time... it is much easier to pull them off in a city i would have to say because a. it's usually a bit more gray and you want to wear closed-toe shoes most of the time b. you can rock whatever you want where no one even takes a second glance ;) c. i don't really care about b all that much because i'm all about wearing whatever you want with confidence....

michelle and i have remained close friends from my days at fsu and working at divas and devils... from time to time i will hop up there and play... in april we did a shoot at the mahalia plantation and all came out great.. with a new photographer thrown into the mix.. hmm hmmm tony you are amazing... we had a ball... did some photos for the new billboards, on-line store, and photos for fun mixing her high end denim and vintage clothing..

...so we headed to the railroad after our mini shoot at the store... to my surprise a house full of hippies were gathering and we saw a vw bus in the back of the yard.. we knew we needed to shoot it and they were so kind and lovely and didn't mind at all.

here we have the lovely tricia thomas. one of my dearest friends who is always willing to help me out with fashion shows, shoots, the grand opening of my store, and just about any problem i ever need to call her for ;) she looks fab and always a pleasure to work with... i literally throw her into anything and she can pull it off

ok so we all know and can't help but buy from urban outfitters... always hip, great comfort wear, i am a sucker for their v-neck printed T's and some threads you literally feel like you can't live without... fine on a splurge here and there BUT i have to say from these images above that i can help you sort out these exact outfits for a fraction of the price, all you need is a bit of creativity and a local thrift store...

top left gray shorts... you can probably find a pair of old-lady-looking shorts to the knee, probably like a jersey knit or linen fabric would be best and then just hem the bottom up to become really short, shorts and wear high on your waist... might be really cute with a top tucked in or a dressy blouse too... i did this with a god-awful pair of turqoise and white shorts that were my mothers and now they are my favorite.. i always rock heels and a white tank or T with them

these other crazy patterns are all from vintage dresses or tops from second hand thrift stores.... the dress right of the shorts is simply shortened and belted tightly..

the floral dress with front zipper is straight fabric from the nineties just shortened and then take it to a seamstress and have her fit it to your body and add in the zipper (easily bought at a fabric store like jo-anns or michaels).. one two three fabulous and cheap! i see dresses that go to the ground with these strange little patterns for like a dollar or two dollars all the time at thrift stores... take a couple minutes to search for yourself and you can save a ton of money!!!!

plaid is in big time which i saw everywhere in london last year... i quite like it with skinny's and heels or leggings and boots... but NO need to pay more than like ten to twenty bucks.. for real ;) xxxox

when i was asked to assist with cia.maritima i was thinking..... ummmm of course!!!! such a blast preparing for the show... the models were fantastic and well fed... i wasn't surprised to find out that they always get a rep for having thicker models... but they looked amazing! like real women with curves and abs and actual bodies...

the cuts were unique and fit appropriately and the cover-ups were very complimentary to the body... prints were quite diverse and i was a huge fan of the gold jewelry

this marilyn pose has been seen all over the world and re-invented, poked fun at, or simply copied from those who only wish to attain her sex appeal.

i have to be honest in that last night was the first time i have eer actually seen the seven year itch where this famous photo is from

i found out that when this scene was shot in nyc she was swarmed from people everywhere as the location had leaked out to the public. her husband, joe dimaggio was amongst the crowd to watch her where he found that everytime her dress flew up the people would cheer and holler for her... over ninety takes i believe they said and couldn't use any of them due to the audience that had arrived to lincoln ave...

surprisingly, he wasn't upset that her dress was floating into the air but that he couldn't handle the cheering crowd for someone other than himself...

pretty sad to realize that her marriage to the one man that she truly connected with and loved had to end due to jealousy.. you would think that not only having marilyn monroe on you arm, but the fact that she loved you would be enough for one man, even a big shot baseball legend... but i guess not.

the most interesting part of this film is that no nudity or sex was even shown... yet the message of lust, love, sexual attraction, and flirtation were all very present and done in such a classy way that i think is what made marilyn... marilyn

pretty unbelievable that twin baby girls would turn into society's wealthiest duo before age 18... it almost makes me wish my mom would have thrown me into hollywood to see what would have happened but not really though.

i do have to say that these girls have kicked ass and worked hard for all that they have ...their style, in my opinion is pretty fantastic and i enjoyed reading though their inspiration book

...i couldn't imagine growing up in a relm where designers, not just small unknown but major, luxury designers knocking at their nursury door to dress them.

Lace Lingerie Grand Opening

For the grand opening of lace lingerie... i decided to go with a u.s.o. sailor theme and our models were of course our LIVE pin-up girls

They all looked fab!!! i went with a combination of vintage and new for each model and all items are found at the shop.

Kelly for example has on our betsy johnson navy bra and two vintage slips (red and navy) with a red and white polka dot scard wrapped around her waist as a belt with red peep-toe shoes and a white sailor hat

Tricia was a bit more custom... pj salvage navy and white polka dot shorts and a vintage sailor shirt that i cut up and tied directly to her body... flower in her hair and white wedges. done.

Alysha in the red satin pencil skirt wore our Tra La La white halter bra (which is amazine) and a red flower in her hair... her curls were my fav and oooh so Mariyn.

Kalyn ...in the black boy shorts, white vintage top with red dots, and vintage red leather belt, sailor hat and heels. gorgeous.

Leah, Ashlee, Laura, Nicole, Kaitlyn, and Jenna were all vintage ...bra's, tops, slips, belts, teddy and robe all available at the shop...

The black headpiece was from Angelica's personal collection (one of our three fabulous hair/make-up stylists pictured with pauline and i) these fantastic ladies made our even POP!!!!

with spring coming into bloom... weddings seem to be popping up like crazy, if it's not an actual wedding, then it is an engagement anouncement for a soon-to-be-wedding in the fall.. hmm hmm ms. rawson :) which i am very excited for...

there are a couple of important things to go over with proper wedding attire...

a. bride is always the most amazing most stunning, absolutely beautiful person in the whole room, all night and no one can take that away from her!

me with the fabulous bride wendi who is now mrs. jason hansen... after the ceremony and reception she still rocked her gorgeous gown to the bar where the dancing never stopped and a dissapointment came over her that no longer will boys be buying her drinks ;) chic-a-boom room down town dunedin florida.

b. get your shoes in check... they are always the most important part of the fit, the one thing that ties it all together... ali's tracy reese dress paired with steve madden wedges make quite the perfect combo. my tan leather wedges actually have a clear plastic wedge that supports the whole foot... divas and devils tallahassee, fl $22 ...purple peasant dress from becon's closet in brookyn, ny $14 (not actually worn at the wedding)

c. dress... this is always a tricky toss up because it depends on the weather, season, casual wedding vs. dressy... however with careful consideration and appropriate adornment of the body.. you can feel fabulous at any age for the entire fiesta! i always say go with an interesting color and then keep the jewelry plain OR opposite where you keep the cut of the dress as simple as possible and razzle dazzle them with your chunky jewels or shiny metals... if you are EVER unsure then just throw a flower in your hair, real or fake and you will instantly feel better.. a feminite touch that makes any outfit complete.

...above is my sister and i at the kramer wedding feb. 28th... the bride did a beautiful job with black bridesmaid dresses and a mix of red and white roses... i have to say my favorite part was her red garder belt and satin peep toe red heels.. well done katie because you and your wedding looked amazing!!!

a. people...

i would have to say that the most important thing with spring break is selecting your company.. good friends or randoms but whoever you choose, make sure they're down for a good time.

b. the location..

above you see the water of the bahamas and the island of nassau... i've been to this island before but never have i remembered it being so gorgeous! We enjoyed an amazing day on the beach drinking out of coconuts for twenty dolla all day... then headed to atlantis to enjoy some pool time and this amazing aquarium.

c. the suit...

alita bought this swim suit from victoria's secret and she was sold on the fact that it looked like a mermaid suit. mixing the two colors was perfect because it added a little something extra i think. i love the not-matching-bikini look because otherwise it gets rather boring.

d. the shoes...

leah is my model for this photoshoot after dinner where i fell in LOVE with this wall... since most cruises are tight with space, it is imparative to have one kick ass pair of heels to steal the night in! otherwise keep it to flats and flops because you can dress them up or down

cruises are always a good time... what's not to love! frozen drinks, lying in the sun, pretending as if you care about safety drills, and of course dancing your heart our to the jazz band next to the casino. at least these were some highlights from the recent trip to the bahamas for the lovely alita's 22nd birthday.

this little black head dress is compliments of my grandmother... her dearest friend flora faulk passed away about a year ago and granny mom was in charge of finalizing her things. she had a certain grand daughter in mind that she saved old jewelry, clutches, mink capes, and much much more.

my grandma tells me that the faulks were simple people, lived in a tiny little trailer, never ate out too much ...but they bought QUALITY! along with taking extravagant vacations, buying luxury cars, and anything that mrs. faulk felt was needed in her wardrobe.

i was thrilled.. and this hat is one of the key pieces. i love it, the net that covers my hair and all... the brooch is another antique, however from the other side of the family. i think pairing something old with an outfit that is new, really makes the piece pop! on-lookers will notice and comment... as a matter of fact this particular outfit was worn to the curve ny trade show, where i got a lot of positive feedback. thanks flora...

and michelle from divas and devils... she was one of the greatest style influences as far as mixing vintage and new... in fact i think that was a requirement when i worked at the shop actually.

heidi klum... gorgeous, obviously but this color is amazing and the shape is perfect for her. Well done roland mouret!
p. cruz ...this look fits her so well and i think she looks stunning! I would have never thought to pick this Pierre Balmain gown, however it's perfect!
vanessa hudgens.. marchesa is a quite a match for her! this mermaid fit is fabulous and the splash of white is a nice touch!
evan rachel wood ... i love the up do... i love the elie saab dress and she is red carpet ready at it's finest!

Kate Winslet... Loved the acceptance speech, which the oscar was well deserved... however that up do!?! Although she looks ultra-glam I am really not to crazy about this particular YSL number.

Lisa ...can we please get you out of Hollywood already? No offense, but the look is way to enhanced.. in fact I am not so sure what is real anymore.. the Gustavo dress is an interesting color and I love the shape, the rest just bothers me too much!

Angelina ...Elie Saab dress, fit is fabulous the jewels...egh not so sure, and the tattoos don't mesh too well. She's looking real tired these days to me ...maybe it's all the children running around.

Jessica Biel.. a bit of a trash bag ensamble and the Prada name really surprised me. Such a shame, because she is a rather pretty girl.

ahhhh mariah... how i've loved the catchy songs that get stuck in your head all day and you can't help but sing along with the beat that's been imprinted. when honey, fantasy, and even heartbreaker were on the radio... i know i was jamming out and even cut off the tops of my jeans (ok or i cut a couple pairs up) ANYHOW these days what is she wearing?????

i have to admit in the most recent snapshot from a video shoot in hawaii... she looks good, really good and i truly am happy that she seems happy.. but does she always have to be naked? i mean come on now why can't her stylist just dress her in, oh i don't know... clothing!

i mean who let her walk out of the house with that red top, which i'm pretty sure i had the exact same one during preteen years... and the mini dress, gold stilettos, and sunglasses... really?

i'm speechless mearly because it's just an all around NO no...

how to make a headpiece

this headpiece in particular i used two narrow piecces of fabric maybe three feet long, layer one on top of

the other and tie a not every six inches or so... i like to keep

them long because when my hair is up i can wrap it around double and it looks really cute that way... i think adding a headpiece to every outfit makes all the difference
